Maranello
May 2002

Mecca of friends of italian cars: Maranello. The whole village is involved in Ferrari exclusively, which is the biggest employer of the region.
A bit disappointing was the visit at the "Galleria Ferrari" - for 9.50 Euro entrance fee there were only a dozen vehicles to be looked at. In the affiliated fan shop admittedly the full merchandise program was obtainable. This buisiness idea Ferrari had not only by itself though, there are at least 10 shops where you can snow under with Ferrari requisites for expensive money if you want.
Not to miss is a glimpse over the fence at the test track Pista die Fiorano to be located only a few hundred metres away from the factory. Though there wasn't a formula 1 car on test track that day. The ultimative highlight however was a scanty camouflaged Ferrari Enzo prototype spooking arround in specialist publications as "F 60" at that time. Four months shy of its presentation I was able to spot it through a fence on the factory site. Shortly after that it drove directly in front of my lense.
